Circus Trip..Late I Know But I Have a Good Excuse...

We had the pleasure of attending Funundrum at the Honda center a few weeks back. I promise I have been meaning to write about it but was feeling under the weather. Im talking under, under the weather. Complete with multiple doctor visits, a ride in an ambulance and a hospitalization.

Tanya, Maamaw, Bean and I started out evening with a trip to the Lazy Dog Cafe. Great food and I had a gift card thanks to my awesome friend Ani. If you have not been, I highly recommend it. You can even bring your dogs and sit on the patio in front of their fire pit.

When we got to the circus I was a little angry though. (Wait til I finish before you pass judgement). I love animals just as much as the next person. I have a rescued greyhound from Mexico that we all love and adore.

But showing pictures of abused Elephants to my three year old is good way to get people to NOT listen to your cause. Also, don't little boys and girls in line that the money they spend there is going towards buying chains to whip the elephants with. I do so much APPRECIATE their cause and their fight for what they believe is going on, but in the future, please hand me the flyer with the pictures on it and not our children.
Anyways, we had amazing seats and were upfront for all the fun. The contortionists were the best. I have seen some before but none like this. I have quite a few friends who took part in the "MOM" discount this year and all agree this year was better than last years circus. Zing Zang Zoom was good and all but man I couldn't get that song out of my head for weeks!

So I promise to update on our summer happenings later on maybe today since I am up and running again. We have been to the fair....three times, a trip to Victoria Beach, lots and lots of Disneyland, I had a fantastic Birthday party and and day now my new car should be arriving from overseas. Actually it was supposed to be yesterday, but who's counting? (ME)!!!

DAMN protesters! They're lucky (yes, lucky!) I wasn't there.

Those protesters made me SO mad! We parked across the street because I'm cheap, and as we were walking into the Honda Center parking lot, they tried to hand pamphlets to the kids. I said "No thank you," and one woman was like, "This is great information for the kids to see." I looked and said, "No, it is not," and kept walking. And then the woman dressed like an elephant screaming and holding that awful picture. Come on! At least we were able to go around back and watch the (very healthy-looking) elephants have their baths.

It was crazy enough being a circus, and me being there with two kids and no hubby, I didn't need those crazies bugging me.
